PAIA Manual

This manual, prepared in terms of South Africa's Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), sets out the procedure for requesting access to records held by Dante Deo.

1. Introduction

This manual is published in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"). It is intended to assist members of the public in exercising their right to request access to records held by Dante Deo (Pty) Ltd ("Dante Deo", "the Company").

3. The Information Officer

The Information Officer is responsible for dealing with requests for access to records made under PAIA, and may be contacted using the details above.

4. Guide on How to Use PAIA

The South African Human Rights Commission ("SAHRC") has published a guide, as contemplated in Section 10 of PAIA, to assist persons wishing to exercise their rights under the Act. This guide is available from the SAHRC.

5. Records Available in Terms of Other Legislation

Dante Deo may hold records available in terms of other legislation, including but not limited to the Companies Act 71 of 2008 and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

6. Categories of Records Held

Dante Deo holds records relating to, among others: corporate and statutory records; client and contract records; financial and accounting records; employee and human resources records; and marketing and communications records.

7. How to Request Access to Records

A request for access to a record must be made in the prescribed form (Form 2) to the Information Officer, together with sufficient detail to enable the record to be located and proof of identity of the requester.

8. Fees

Fees may be payable in accordance with the prescribed fee structure set out in PAIA, and will be communicated to the requester upon receipt of a valid request.

9. Grounds for Refusal

Access to a record may be refused on grounds set out in PAIA, including but not limited to the protection of the privacy of third parties, commercially sensitive information, and legally privileged information.
